ANNOUNCEMENTS | November 12, 2024

Here is your Garapan Revitalization Project (GRP) update for the week of November 3-10, 2024. As of November 1, the project is approximately 88% complete.

As of November 8, all of Plumeria Avenue is fully paved. The preparing and paving the remaining roads in the Garapan Core is ongoing and will proceed as scheduled, weather permitting. Along a portion of Beach Road (near Grandvrio Resort Saipan to OHAS Boulangerie & Cafe Saipan), the GRP team continues to demolish existing curbs to make way for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)- compliant curbs. In areas where this demolition is underway, the team has also begun pouring concrete for new sidewalks.

The Garapan Revitalization Project broke ground in November 2022 and is made possible through an $11.2 million grant award from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA). Through close coordination among OPD, the firms working on the Garapan Revitalization Project, and other government agencies with development projects in Garapan, construction work for the Garapan Revitalization Project remains on track towards its anticipated completion date of November 2024, weather permitting.

OPD thanks the businesses in the Garapan Core and the entire community for your patience and understanding over the past two years as we continue our efforts to improve the area.
