Who we are
Our website address is: https://opd.gov.mp. This site is managed by staff from the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands’ Office of the Governor’s Office of Planning and Development. Because this website is a forum for information sharing and discussion, views expressed here may be those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of any government entity.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with U.S. provisions on digital information and communication).
We may collect information about you for two reasons: firstly, to record any planning input you would like to share and second to response to any queries which you may have. We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent by signing up for a Listserv or asking a direct question that we are able to respond to. The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law.
We may use technology to track the patterns of behavior of visitors to our site. This can include using a “cookie” which would be stored on your browser. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening. The information collected in this way can be used to identify you unless you modify your browser settings.
If you have any questions/comments about privacy, please contact us.
After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment. Comments submitted by email may become part of the public record for input documentation. You may request that emailed comments not have name or email attribution in our files.

If you upload images to the website you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included as visitors to the website may access location data from images on the website.
We use contact forms to collect online comments and send mail through our Listservs. You can opt out of Listservs to be removed from our email lists at any time.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Who we share your data with
Other than the Google Analytics properties mentioned above, we do not share your data or personal identifying information with any third parties. However, comments you submit may become part of official agency records. Because we are a public agency, our records may be discoverable upon submission of an “Open Government Act” request to the extent that such an information request does not invade the right of privacy of an individual or business entity (see 1 CMC §9901 et seq.). If you do not wish a comment be attributed or become part of the public record please clearly indicate when such statements or data are submitted.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment online or by email, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. Google Analytics trackers are automatically deleted after 26 months. Contributor names and email addresses are stored indefinitely, unless you requested otherwise. For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
